About Breakdance / Hip Hop

Hip Hop started in New York city in the early 70’s. one of the first and original elements of Hip Hop is BreakDance or B-Boying (also called OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP).

At first It was a very underground culture and lifestyle and it was only done at certain areas and spots. eventhough it was so underground In the streets, It was the latest and koolest thing to do. it Also became an alternative to violence and gang warfare for many. Instead of fighting many would take it to the floor and battle it out to see who had the best and latest dance moves. Rarely battles would end up in a fight, crime decreased due to Hip Hop.

In the early 80’s breakdancing started to get more recognition and was expose to the mass to the fullest. It became the thing to do for everybody and it was fun at the same time. Quickly it started spreading all over the USA and through live dance shows tours, TV and Media it spread to the rest of world aswell.

Now in the year 2000’s Breakdancing is still in full swing and growing. Any country around the world that you can think of, youll find breakdancers doing and living their passion for the culture and dance art form.
